Was this officer interested in me or just really nice?

ok well 2 weeks ago 2 police officers came to my house because i had a mental meltdown. I ended up being taken to the hospital. Anyway after i got in the officers car, i calmed down and him and i began talking. He told me about his life everything he did, how he's a veteran, etc.. it was interesting and we had a good conversation. He also told me he would return to see how i was doing, because he wanted to make sure i was ok. When we got to the hospital he hinted that i hadnt given him my number but i didnt end up giving it to him. Well 2 days ago he showed up at my door asking for me. He asked how i was, and told me he knew my birthday was the day before and came to wish me a happy birthday. Before he left he grabbed my hand and cupped it with both of his. I asked him if it was mandatory to come or something and he said no. Anyway he did not ask me for my number, so was it just platonic? BTW im 21 he's 30.
