Homework help please!?

for my english cl we were igned to read Hop-Frog by edgar allen poe and i am soo confused! i understand the plot and the storys single effect but i dont understand how this story uses foreshadowing at the end and i cant find anything ironic about it! also how is it gothic lit? please help! i have a huge 200 point test on this!
